Most of the fun in Headhunters comes from collecting all of its dropped clues. Sympathize with Roger the bad guy, because the other guy is so much worse. Embrace the subtitles of this one, and get lost in its fiendish plot twists. No surprise, then, that Headhunters is also headed for an English-language do-over.ĭon’t wait for it. The film kicks into high gear at about the 35-minute mark and never really throttles back for the last hour. Oh, and did we mention that he’s ex-military and an expert tracker? But Clas is quick to catch on, and comes looking for Roger. Roger arranges to make off with the painting, with a little help from a weapons-obsessed accomplice who works for a home security company, and can selectively disable alarms when required. Every nerve in Roger’s body is now standing on end. And he may have a priceless Rubens hanging in his apartment. He’s handsome and a little too attentive to Roger’s wife. He’s a possible candidate for a chief position at a high-tech firm. He’s a Danish expat – nicely playing on the intra-Scandinavian tensions that are such a mystery to North American audiences.
